Felipe Arturo

With a degree in architecture from the Universidad de Los Andes, in Bogotá, Felipe Arturo obtained his master’s degree from Columbia University, New York. He worked for three years with Colombian artist Doris Salcedo, in Bogotá, and for one year with Chilean artist Alfredo Jaar, in New York. His work is focused on the intersections between urbanism, architecture, the history of cities and art, constructing temporary structures that can be discovered through the time-based image or spontaneous happenings and encounters within the space. Besides his artistic activities, Felipe Arturo is an associate professor with the Department of Visual Arts of the Universidad de Bogotá Jorge Tadeo Lozano. His work has been featured in solo and group shows in various countries, including Spain, the United States, France and Portugal, and figures in collections such as that of Patricia Phelps de Cisneros, New York and Caracas; Colección Jumex, Mexico; Colección ArtNexus, Colombia, and others.
