Having begun his career in the field of cinema, in recent years Pablo Lobato has gravitated to the visual arts circuit. With continuing interest for audiovisual production, his work is currently developed in an indeterminate zone between these disciplines. Lobato was one of the creators of Teia — Centro de Pesquisa Audiovisual, headquartered in Belo Horizonte since 2002. In 2011, he was conferred the Prêmio Sergio Motta de Arte e Tecnologia and was selected for the Programa Rumos Artes Visuais. He is currently working on the completion of the film Ventos de Valls, which derives from an action realized in Spain in 2009, financed by the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation of New York. In 2011, he took part in the show Panorama da Arte Brasileira, at MAM-SP, and the 17th Festival Internacional de Arte Contemporânea SESC-Videobrasil, at SESC Belenzinho, São Paulo, also participating in exhibitions held in Norway and Uruguay. His work figures in the collections of the Museu de Arte da Pampulha, Belo Horizonte, and the Centro Cultural Banco do Nordeste, Fortaleza.
